Squatters Rights

This is the law that allows the use of property belonging to another as long as the owner has not tried to evict them. In some states, the property may even be given to the squatter due to a term called “adverse possession.” Adverse possession can be intentional trespassing turned into ownership or a fence accidentally built a few feet into someone else’s yard. It depends on many factors and the laws vary from state to state.
